Dr. Seuss Blogging Wisdom

Blogging advice is everywhere you look. You can find it online, or in a book.
Tips can get boring so we thought it’d be cool, to have Dr. Seuss take you to school.
We’ve gathered some quotes, little things he said.
Hopefully you can use them to get your blog read!

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.”
Sometimes, in order to keep your readers’ attention, you need to blog outside the box. Keep your posts interesting and fun to read!

“So the writer who breeds more words than he needs, is making a chore for the reader who reads.”
This is an important one. Don’t write in 20 words what you can write in 10. It is unlikely that your readers are interested in how many big words you know, or long your blog posts are.

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
Simply, be yourself! You want to connect with your readers, right? The easiest way to do that is to show your personality.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
Stay informed. Don’t pick one source and strictly abide by it. The more knowledgeable you are on your subject, the more your audience will trust you as a reliable source of information.

“A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
Don’t take your readers for granted. If they are commenting on your posts, reach out to them. If they need further explanation, help them out. That one reader may become your strongest advocate.

“Think and wonder, wonder and think.”
Write what you are thinking. If you ever find yourself in a “writer’s block”, tell your readers what has been on your mind. It could be about something going on in the news, or at your workplace. Ask them what they think.

“Words and pictures are yin and yang. Married, they produce a progeny more interesting than either parent.”
Always try to incorporate an image into your post. It is a nice vacation for your readers’ eyes, and helps them to visualize your message. You can even optimize old blog posts by going back and adding images to them!

Stay tuned for the next one, sure hope you do. Until then some last words from the great Dr Seuss.

“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”
