Did you know that out of the 1.2 billion uses currently active on Facebook, over 600 million are using the app on their mobile devices to share pictures, access applications, stay connected with their networks, and play games?  Each year, this number grows by about 67% as more and more people gain access to mobile devices.

A majority of the population, nearly 75% or 250,000,000 people, now has a mobile device and in the next two years there will be more mobile subscriptions than human beings. Out of those mobile devices, 50% of them are smart phones, capable of accessing the Internet and popular social media sites like Facebook.

Even though other social networking mobile applications like Instagram and Twitter are gaining popularity, they still have yet to rival the influence, reputation, and staying power of Facebook. People spend more time on Facebook than any other mobile platform; on average each user spends about 20 minutes on the site per visit.

On a larger scale, 80% of businesses are active on Facebook and more than a million websites are integrated with the platform.

The only way for your message to reach Facebook users is by showing up in their newsfeed. It is important to publish relevant and quality content that your audience considers valuable and that audience needs to interact with the content by liking, commenting on, or sharing it.

A fantastic way to maximize exposure is to promote and post ads or sponsored stories. These posts will remain at the top of your network’s news feeds, which will boost reach and enhance the chances for interaction.

These new trends in social media are not going away. Mobile is the future, and now that a majority of the nation has transitioned to portable devices, with numbers increasing by the million each year, it is time you optimize your campaign for devices in order to more efficiently target your customers.
